Current Nail Color: Revlon's Perplex

OMG, I can honestly say that I had a hard time looking for this!!! I think I went to every drugstore around my job and my neighborhood, until I found the display at a Rite Aid by my son's daycare. They say that this is a cheap Dupe for "Chanel's Paradoxal" and it is very similar.

Perplex is a described as a purple with grey undertones and it's the perfect fall/winter color. My sister and niece saw my manicure and begged me to get them each one. Now I have to pray that I find at least 2 bottles again! lol

My Perfect Imperfections *TAG*

I generally don't do Tag's, I prefer to watch them. But, since I was tagged I said why not! I opted to write it out instead of making a video...sorry, but my son doesn't give me much free time...lol.

THE TAG:
Share 3 physical things that you dislike about yourself or feel are imperfect & 3 physically
things you like about yourself or feel are perfect. The point of this tag isn't to look for pity
or compliments, it's just to show that we are all human that have things that
we like/dislike about ourselves.

My "Imperfections"

1.  My Tummy...I had my son 2 years ago, and after having a c-section it leaves a pooch that is not quite desirable. I just wish I could "snap" my fingers and go back to my H.S. weight! lol

2.  My Skin...Lately my face has been breaking out badly and everything I try doesn't seem to work.
I guess I need to change my eating habits and start eating healthy again. I also,
have Eczema and this winter it has been the worst!

3.  My Eyes....I kinda hate the fact that without my glasses, I'm blind as a bat! I have opted for
contacts, but most bother and dry out my eyes so I just stick to glasses for now.
(Kinda wish I had 20/20 vision...sighhh)

My "Perfections"

1.  My Hair...it's the easiest thing to manage, ever since High School everyone always envied
my hair (especially my sisters)  and would literally stroke it all day long. lol

2.  My Smile...even though I always have a serious face, when I smile I get lot's of compliments.
I guess I need to smile a little more often. ☺

3.  My Eyebrows...when they are on point, which is usually after threading!

~So feel free to "TAG" yourselves, I would love to hear what are you girl's Imperfection/Perfections!~

Haul: Yes to Tomatoes

I was recommended this a while back by a blogger named Tammy...hey girl!!! I always kept eyeing it every time I was at Rite Aid and this time I decided to finally get it.

yes to tomatoes

KIT CONTENTS:
• Yes To Tomatoes Facial Wash - 100ml/3.38 fl. oz
• Yes To Tomatoes Facial Hydrating Lotion - 50ml/1.7 fl. oz.
• Yes To Tomatoes Facial Mask - 30ml/1.01 fl. oz
• Yes To! Spa headband

This is for Oily-Combination skin, with frequent breakouts. It doesn't at all smell like tomatoes, to me it smells sweet like watermelon. One thing I can say is that it does leave your face shine free all day. Since, this is all natural I am hoping I get better results!

Carmex Healing Lotion

Suffering from dry itchy skin in the winter is no joke! I have tried everything and there is only one thing that seems to work, but it gets a little to expensive from time to time. I recently saw this featured in a few blogs and decided to give it a try, especially since it's made by the well known brand Carmex. Carmex released to products called Carmex Healing Lotion and Carmex Healing Cream

Retails for $5.99 at Walgreens
  • Use anywhere skin feels dry
  • Daily use will help protect skin and keep dryness away
  • Rich healing ingredients, including Aloe and Vitamin E, nourish and moisturize skin
  • Absorbs fast for a non-greasy feel; has a light, pleasant scent
This actually did a pretty good job of soothing my skin. Especially at night is when it's the most irritated and I feel like scratching my skin off...yea it's that bad! The formula is exactly as described on the bottle, non-greasy and it smells just like the lip balm. The only con is that it's only available at Walgreens at the moment, but you can go HERE to get a $2.00 off coupon.

NIVEA a kiss of Milk & Honey

I have a slight obsession with lip balms, especially during the Fall/Winter seasons. You can find at least 3 in my purse, I don't know what it is but I always seems to get a new one every few weeks....lol. Everyone keeps raving about the new lip balm by Nivea called A Kiss of Milk & Honey. It resembles the Kiss of Moisture one, (blue packaging) except for the fact that this one is yellow and has little bees on it....which I think is cute.

Retails for $2.99 (depending where you buy it)

Here is how it is described on the NIVEA site:
The pampering formula, enriched with some of nature's best remedies, strengthens and moisturizes lips to help boost lips natural defenses. Lips are soothed and feel naturally healthy, hydrated, and soft.
  • Soothing formula boosts lip’s natural defenses
  • Intensively moisturizes so lips can stay healthy & hydrated
  • With natural Milk Protein & rich Golden Honey
Overall:
I would purchase this again! I really love the smell and how smooth and moisturized it leaves my lips feeling. I find myself reaching for this all day long.

Nook for SALE!!!

I'm selling a *wifi* Barnes and Noble Nook that is used, but in great condition. No charger is available and I'm selling it with the leather case. I'm asking for $100...let me know if anyone is interested.

Flowerbomb Travel Duo

I recently picked this up at the friend's and family sale that Sephora was having the other day. I had a sample of this and I fell in love with the scent. I love fragrances that are soft and not too overbearing, I mostly wear flowery one like Daisy (Marc Jacobs), Flora (Gucci) and  The Beat (Burberry)...(ugh disllike old lady scents!!!).

Flowerbomb Travel Duo $29
This floral explosion releases a profusion of flowers that has the power to make everything seem more positive. Magically evocative notes immediately awaken your deepest senses, giving you the impression of living life in your own secret garden, away from reality. Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, and Ballerina Freesia bloom on a base of Patchouli.

This set contains:
- 0.25 oz Eau de Parfum
- 0.5 oz Eau de Parfum Refill
- Funnel

Notes:Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia, Patchouli.
Style:Oriental. Gourmand. Floral.

However, the bottle is very small and does not have a spray. But, it can fit in your handbag and it comes with a big enough size refill bottle. You just have to be a little careful when opening it because the contents might spill out.

What are fragrances are you currently into?

Satin Taupe vs. Nutty

Mac's Satin Taupe is just about every girl's favorite eyeshadow, it's the perfect Taupe color with silver shimmer. So here is what I found, Wet N' Wilds Nutty e/s is the perfect dupe and it's much more affordable!

Rose vs. Pink

We all love Dupes...sometimes you just can't afford the high-end makeup and you have to go with your local drugstore finds. I just recently picked up a lipgloss by Revlon (Pink Pursuit) and I think it can be a close dupe for Bare Minerals lipgloss (Rose). When I swatched it on my skin the  Pink Pursuit is more pink then the BM's Rose. I actually like the Revlon lipgloss better since it has no fragrance and the Bare Minerals one smells like really sweet.
What do you think?

Walgreen Goodies

I made a quick trip to Walgreens today while on my sucky 45 minute lunch break (yea who gets 45mins?!).
This is like a mini ity bity haul...I didn't have too much time browse all the isles because I was on a mission.

- Revlon Lipgloss in Pink Pursuit
- Wet N Wild E/S in Nutty
- Nail Polish Remover

I seriously need to stop reading blogs because they will be the death of me! Hence, the reason why I picked up this lipgloss and eyeshadow. I already tried the lipgloss and it's a pretty pink shade (retails for $8.49), kind of matches my lips. Now as for the e/s, I haven't tried it but I heard that it's a great dupe for MAC's Satin Taupe and it has great pigmentation (on sale for $1.19). The Nail Polish remover was a must have because I had run out of it and this seemed like a good price.

Sephora Friends & Family Sale

As you all know the Sephora Friends & Family sale is still going on (ends Nov 3).
I decided to pick up two of my most coveted items today, since I have been holding off on it.

CODE: FF2010

Items Purchased
MUFE Duo Mat Powder Foundation
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Skinny Jeans

I keep hearing great things about the MUFE Duo mat powder every where, especially on YT. I am more of a powder kind of girl (Liquid Foundations are too messy for my liking), so hopefully this works better then my Mac Studio Fix. As for Skinny Jeans I know I'm going to like it since I already have RSVP, I just wanted to try a different color. Hopefully this order ships out fast!

What items did you get?

No More Books

After much research and thinking I finally decided to jump the bandwagon and get an E-Reader! I was getting annoyed at the fact that I don't have room for all these books I was accumulating. I would try using the using the library, but every time I was looking for a specific book it was always checked out. I kept going back and forth on whether to get a Nook or a Kindle, I must have read tons of reviews on various sites and asked my friends that have a e-reader how they like it. So, I finally decided on a.................................. KINDLE!!!!

This has been the best investment I have ever made! It's light and thin and can hold thousands of books and the battery last almost a whole month without charging. I have noticed that I actually read books faster now. Lately I have been hook on the "Pretty Little Liars" series (Total of 8 books) and I just breeze through each book in less then a week. If you are looking for a book to read, I suggest you try this series out.

What are you favorite books?

My sweet boy turned 2!

Yesterday my baby boy (Brayan) turned 2 years old! How time flies when you are having fun?! It was just yesterday that he was born and I still can't believe how much he has grown. I celebrated his lil milestone by having a few friends and their lil' ones over. Decided to be Betty Crocker for a day and made cupcakes, I pat myself on the back for such a good job! Check out some of the pics....

He was able to celebrate 2 days in a row because they also sang him Happy Birthday and bought him cupcakes at the daycare. What a lucky boy he is! He was loving every minute of it, especially all the cupcakes he was able to eat...lmao.

Splurge vs. Steal

Everyone is familiar with the coveted "Metro Chic" from Sephora by Opi, I bet all of you ran to Sephora when it 1st was released. But, why spend $9 on a nail polish when you can get the dupe for far less. Here's the steal...Rimmel London's Steel Grey retails for $3.99 and can be found at any drugstore....yes any! It is the exact same color, for almost half the price. I really like the brush applicator because it's wide enough to put an even coat on your nails and the color is very opaque.

So which one do you prefer?

Munchkin Update...

We are almost a month away before my lil' pickel (excuse the nickname) turns 2! It feels like it was just yesterday when he was born, now he a big boy and going through those dreadful "Terrible Two's." They have started potty training him at the Daycare and he uses the potty fine while there, but when at home he just tell me no. I guess it's because he sees the other kids go potty so he wants to do the same.

Brayan is currently obsessed with everything from "Spongebob Sqaurepants." I bought him the toddler bed set and I'm trying to see if I decorate his room with that under the sea theme...let's see how  that goes! Yesterday, the BF says that Brayan is like the Sour Patch Kid from the commercials...sour and one point then turns sweet. I couldn't help, but LMAO...because that totally describes his personality! For his age he is extremely smart and very talkative. People are surprised when I tell him that he isn't even 2 yrs old yet.
He also loves music, whenever I have my iPod playing in the kitchen I hear him singing the songs word-for-word.

He is truly a blessing and I love him so much.!!!! ☺♥☺♥☺

Nail Polish Junkie!!!

I don't know what it is, but lately I have been really into nail polishes. I seem to buy at least one a week, then proceed to hide them from the BF...lol. Here are some of the new collections that will be released this fall.

China Glaze: Vintage Vixen

Essie: Fall Collection

OPI: Swiss Fall/Winter Collection

Which ones will you get this Fall?

MAC TURQUATIC

Do you know how certain smells or fragrances trigger memories?! Well, Turquatic from MAC does that to me...it reminds me of a perfume my grandfather used to buy me when I was younger. Whenever he visited from the Dominican Republic he always asked what I wanted him to bring me. I always said a perfume from the Duty Free at the airport, I don't remember the name of it...just the smell and that the bottle was round with some blue on it.

I have been wanting to try Turquatic for awhile, but never made it into MAC or if I did the MA's were always to busy to help me out so I kept putting it off. Until yesterday, on my walk over to Grand Central to catch the train home I decided to stop by and finally buy it.

Retails for $25

It's small enough to carry around in my purse for whenever I need a touch up, but honestly I really think it lasts all day long. Last night I sprayed it on my wrists and after washing dishes and taking my son a bath, I could still smell it. I asked the BF if he liked the smell, but all he said was "I dunno...it smells like all of the rest you have." Ugh...men are no help! lol

Have you tried Turquatic or any other Mac Fragrance?

Wishlist!!!!

I have been a handbag feein, since I can remember! A girl can't never have too many handbags, right?!

Breakouts BEWARE!!!!

Honestly, I have no idea WTF is going on with my face! I find like 4-5 new pimples every wk, geez it's getting really annoying.  It's hard enough trying to find a product that is going to actually work. I have been researching for a while now and I cam across this.

bliss no 'zit' sherlock complete acne system $32

• 3-step routine for acne-addled complexions
• fixes existing breakouts and prevents more from forming
• squashes spots with salicylic acid and probiotics

Today is actually Day 2 of using this...so far so good. Can't really say I have seen any dramatic change as of yet, but I will keep you all posted.  The only con is that the moisturizer is mattifying so there can be a little flaking, especially is you have the tendency of touching your face a lot. Tammy a lovely blogger, recommend I try the kit from YES to CARROTS. It has been working for her and it has great reviews, what sucks is that I haven't been able to find it. I will continue my search and in the meantime keep up with this regimen!

Product of the Week #9

What It Is: Cream Eyeshadow/Liner

What It Does: It's a sparkling champagne cream shadow which claims to be crease-proof and smudge proof.

Overall: It's a pretty color, I like how it's blendable and the color is very buildable. The only thing that I dislike is that it does crease if you don't use a primer on your eyes. But, besides that I really like this as an all over splash of color for your eyelids.

Where Can You Buy It: You can find this at Sephora or at the Benefit website.

Blush Addict

Lately all I want to do is buy blushes, but I always seem to only get pinks and corals...I think I have a problem!
I hate going to Target for one thing and coming out with more than what I was suppose to. Has that ever happened to you?! Anyways, since I tried Sonia Kashuk's TM and lipgloss's I thought I would give her blushes a  shot.
Here are my two favorite ones, the Beautifying Blush in Flamingo and the Creme Blush in Rosey. I'm really liking these blushes, especially the creme blush. It looks a bit orange in the picture, but its more of a coraly/pinky color. I like applying this with my fingers which is more easier for me then using a brush.

What blushes have you recently been using?

Twins?!

So apparently Brayan is always being mistaken for being my siblings son! You would think that you had the audacity to carry a baby for 9 months that they would look exactly like you...yea right. I thought it would be funny to put a side by side pictures of my younger brother (25 yrs old) next to a picture of Brayan, to see if there really is a resemblance.

Apparently everyone seems to think so....check it out!

Brayan isn't really wearing glasses, they are from a Harry Potter set. Funny thing is my brother's name is Hery, but he just tells people to call him Harry or Henry.

Product of the Week #8

What It Is: Mac Bronzing Powder

What It Does: A lightly frosted, tinted powder that gives skin sheer, natural colour effects and highlights. Ideal for enhancing a skin tone or to accent or strengthen a tan. Skin-conditioning - and formulated to provide a smooth, even application on all skin types.

Overall: I like the fact that this bronzer is not to shimmery and not to orange. I gently swipe it 2x's on my cheeks for a nice glowy look.

Where Can You Buy It: I believe this was a limited edition item so it is no longer available. You can also try your local CCO.

What's your favorite Bronzer?

Splurge vs. Steal

There is so much hype around the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners, but sadly it doesn't live up to it.

So, here is my Splurge vs. Steal...the UD 24/7 Eyeliners retails for $18 a piece and it claims that it has a long-lasting finish that won't budge and then there is the Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner that retails for $5.99.

The Milani eyeliner doesn't even have a chance of coming off. It dries in 15 seconds after applying and in order for you to remove it, you have to use makeup remover...that's how good it's staying power is! Also, this is a true black eyeliner compared to the Urban Decay, which isn't even that black.

So which one do you prefer?

Product of the Week #7

What It Is: Sonia Kashuk Radiant Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15

What It Does: Evens out your skin tone while giving you medium coverage and some sunscreen protection.

Overall: I really like this, it matches my skin perfectly and gives it a beautiful dewy radiant finish.
This is more like a light foundation because it isn't as sheer as a TM should be. After wearing it for about 8 hours my face was still feeling great!

Where Can You Buy It: I think you can only find this at Target at it's about $12-$13. Sad thing is I think it might be discontinued, so I suggest you go and try it now before it's no longer available.
