Century 21 Haul

Like I mentioned in my Update post yesterday, I bought a few things at Century 21 while I was downtown. I was only comfortable with showing you guys the shoes that I got.

These Steve Madden flats retail for $89 and I got them on clearance for $15! You can never have enough black flats in your life...lol.

OOTD: Outfit of the Day

My 1st OOTD...never done this before, but my friend asked me to take a pic of what I was wearing. So, please forgive my picture taking skills as this was taken with my blackberry in the women's restroom at work.

Dress: Target
Sweater: Unknown
Shoes: Payless
Necklace: Tiffany's

Update...

Today I had to go down to the City of NY courts because apparently they were sending Jury notices to my parents apartment last year and I don't live there. It was a quick 1..2..3, I just had to tell them I moved and they said I was going to be put on some list. Hopefully, I don't get called in for Jury Duty!

Since I had told the "Boss Man" I was coming in around 1pm, I decided to talk a walk and do a lil' shopping. Now who doesn't love shopping?! I went into Century 21 to see if there where any sales. I bought a cute pair of Steve Madden black flats for $15 and 3 Calvin Klein Bras for $20...now that's a deal! I had to refrain from spending my whole check, since I got paid today.

I was feeling a little guilty and finally decided to take the train uptown and go to work....boo! I would have preferred to deal with this errand in the afternoon, but noooo my boss wanted me to do it in the morning.

Do I look excited to be at work?! Lol...not really. I should have taken a pic of how cute my outfit is...I wore a cute tank dress that I bought from Target a few weeks ago. Now, I'm at the office bored with nothing to do and starving...guess I should think about what to have for lunch.

Have a great weekend! ☺

My July Favorites

It seems like this year is going by so fast. It's already the end of July and I will soon have to prepare for my lil' guys 2nd birthday...OMG! It seems like it was literally yesterday when he was born.  Anyways, on to the products that I have been ♥'in and using all throughout this month.

*L'Oreal Voluminous Naturale*
I really like the natural look this gives to my non-existing lashes.

*Essie Splash of Grenadine*
The best pink/purple color for the summer! After being on the hunt for this, it's all I want to wear.

*L'Oreal HIP Jelly Balm (Plush)*
I use this so much that I need to get a back up pretty soon.

*Too Faced Shadow Insurance*
Never used a primer before this and this pretty much does the job.

*Mark Flip for It Urban Neutrals*
This is the palette that I always grab on the weekends, make my life much easier!

*Sonia Kashuk Radiant Tinted Moisturizer*
After looking for a TM for weeks, I think this one is by far the best one I have tried from the Drugstore.
It matched my skin perfectly and it's a reasonable $.

*Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer*
Great light weight and oil free moisturizer, it has help diminish how oily my t-zone gets.
Only downfall is that is doesn't contain any SPF.

*Daisy by Marc Jacobs*
My all time favorite everyday fragrance...♥ it so much that I am on my 3rd bottle.

Currently Reading...

(The first book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series)

Synopsis:
For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf–her wolf–is a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It’s her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human–or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Final Thoughts:
This book drew me in from the moment I started reading it! I really liked the author's writing style and how lyrical the story is. This book has been compared to Twilight because of the forbidden love concept, but I can honestly say that this has a better story line. Each chapter is narrated by Grace or Sam and is headed by a temperature reading, which adds to the drama as the story develops. Overall, I think this is a great love story and it introduces you to the aspects of werewolf mythology.

Makeupalley Swap

I recently joined this website called Makeupalley, which is a beauty social networking site. Here you can find reviews on products, photos and you can also swap for items. I recently swapped for the Stila Travel Palette- Road to Radiance across the USAit retails for $10, but I didn't want to pay $8 for shipping.

This collectable palette includes:

Four Eye Shadows:
- Snow Bunny (shimmery champagne)
- Southern Belle (mauve)
- Valley Girl (pink)
- City Chick (alloy)

Convertible Color:
- Hibiscus

The palette was brand new, so I was lucky that I didn't have to worry about yukky germs! I think Iwant to collect all the palettes, there are a total of 5 and each one is released every month.

Product of the Week #6

What It Is:
Eye Shadow Primer

What It Does:

Prevents your eyeshadow from creasing, fading, melting...etc.
Also, it helps to even out the skin tone on your lids.

Overall:

Very creamy and goes on smoothly.
My only complaint is that it sometimes comes out of the tube
somewhat separated so I gently mix it together with my finger tips before smoothing it
over my lid. Otherwise it's an amazing product!

Blues & Golds

Played around with Polyvore...this is what I came up with!
Blue & Gold

Product of the Week #5

What It Is: Top Coat Dryer

What It Does: Orly Sec N Dry Polish Dryer penetrates and dries all layers of nail polish quickly. Dries to a hard protective finish that does not yellow.

Overall: Like many, I am very impatient when it comes to waiting for my manicure to dry until I discovered this. CVS has the mini bottle's so I bought it to see if this would actually work and was surprised when it did. It really cuts down the dry time. Sec 'N Dry left my nails nice, dry, shiny and thick...I love this stuff!

Where Can You Buy It: Any Drugstore retails for $6.99.

Fedora's

The "Fedora" hat seems to be the new trend for this summer. I have been wanting one for awhile, but never seemed to go ahead and get one. Thanks to the BF, he got me one on Friday...mind you I don't think I look good in hats, but I really like this one. Now I want to get more colors...lol.

What do you think? You like?

Product of the Week #4

What It Is: Light Mattifying Moisturizer

What It Does: If you want it all skin that’s moisturized but totally shine-free then try this light, oil-free moisturizer that says bye-bye to shine with a super blend of oil absorbers to help create an up-close-and-perfect finish. Plus, a dose of sugar cane—a natural alpha-hydroxy—keeps skin fresh and glowing.

Overall: I have tried tons of moisturizers and I can testify that this is the only one that lives up to it's standards. I have oily-to combination skin and every moisturizer I have tried doesn't help control it, except for this lil' bad boy! I had a bunch of samples laying around and I though I would give it a try, after washing my face at night I put this on and went to bed. I swore that in the morning when I woke up that my face was going to have the typical residue, but was surprised when my skin felt clean and oil free.

I also tested it in the day time, to see if it would have the same effects as before. Impressively it did! My face was oil and shine free all day. This moisturizer feels light weight when applied and is fragrance free.

Where Can You Buy It: You can order this item through any mark rep or on the site, it retails for $15.

The Joys of Lil' Boys...Pt 2

Brayan is such a smart little boy, it's just so amazing. He repeats every word you say, not quite exactly how you are suppose to pronounce it...but at least  he is trying. Lately, I have caught him calling out to the BF (his daddy) by Babe...this is what I call him and I just start lmao. He is such a sweet and loving boy, he loves to give hugs and kisses. Brayan also loves music, he is always dancing and singing to whatever music I'm playing from my iPod or from Nick Jr.

The night before, he was on his usual schedule of taking a bath before bedtime. I let him play for a little while so I can get his Pj's ready and everything he needs for daycare the next day. So, Brayan starts calling me and I'm guessing he is finished and what's to get out. To my surprise when I get to the bathroom, he says "Mami, ewww caki." Yep, you guessed it, he pooped in the bath tub (yuk). I still can't believe he did that, I guess it's that time for POTTY TRAINING...whis me luck!

NOTD: Nail of the Day

I have been on the hunt for this color ever since the Resort collection came out. Apparently every drugstore i went to was sold out of it. I happened to pop up at a Duane Reade a few days ago, I searched around where the displays are usually at and I found it. You guys have no idea how excited I was to actually have it, this was the last one on the display. This is such a pretty summery color, next colors will be Turquoise & Caicos and Lapis of Luxury.

Product Fail #1

What It Is: Tinted Moisturizer with SPF50

What It Does: Healthy Wear SPF50 Tinted Moisturizer by Physician's Formula delivers maximum SPF 50 broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection while providing sheer and natural-looking color. It also claims to be long wearing, water resistant and sweat proof.

Overall: I heard great reviews about this product so I was dying to try it, since I have been looking for an in-expensive TM. There are only 4 shades to choose from (Light to Natural, Fair to Light, Light to Natural & Natural to Tan), guess which one I purchased....Natural to Tan. As soon as I got home I tried it on and it was a complete FAIL! It is the darkest shade and it was wayyyyyyy to light on my skin...I looked like Casper the friendly ghost. This product would better suite women with lighter complexion and not women of color. I was so disappointed and returned it this morning....I'm still on the search for a good TM.

Where Can You Buy It: Available at any Drugstores (retails for $14.95)

Have you tried this TM? What are your favorite TM's?

Thoughts: So far so good! Fun read and it's a great story. Kind of reminds me of the show on Life Time called "Drop Dead Diva", which I . I'm half way through the book and I can't wait to see what happens.
