Splurge vs. Steal

Everyone is familiar with the coveted "Metro Chic" from Sephora by Opi, I bet all of you ran to Sephora when it 1st was released. But, why spend $9 on a nail polish when you can get the dupe for far less. Here's the steal...Rimmel London's Steel Grey retails for $3.99 and can be found at any drugstore....yes any! It is the exact same color, for almost half the price. I really like the brush applicator because it's wide enough to put an even coat on your nails and the color is very opaque.

So which one do you prefer?

Munchkin Update...

We are almost a month away before my lil' pickel (excuse the nickname) turns 2! It feels like it was just yesterday when he was born, now he a big boy and going through those dreadful "Terrible Two's." They have started potty training him at the Daycare and he uses the potty fine while there, but when at home he just tell me no. I guess it's because he sees the other kids go potty so he wants to do the same.

Brayan is currently obsessed with everything from "Spongebob Sqaurepants." I bought him the toddler bed set and I'm trying to see if I decorate his room with that under the sea theme...let's see how  that goes! Yesterday, the BF says that Brayan is like the Sour Patch Kid from the commercials...sour and one point then turns sweet. I couldn't help, but LMAO...because that totally describes his personality! For his age he is extremely smart and very talkative. People are surprised when I tell him that he isn't even 2 yrs old yet.
He also loves music, whenever I have my iPod playing in the kitchen I hear him singing the songs word-for-word.

He is truly a blessing and I love him so much.!!!! ☺♥☺♥☺

Nail Polish Junkie!!!

I don't know what it is, but lately I have been really into nail polishes. I seem to buy at least one a week, then proceed to hide them from the BF...lol. Here are some of the new collections that will be released this fall.

China Glaze: Vintage Vixen

Essie: Fall Collection

OPI: Swiss Fall/Winter Collection

Which ones will you get this Fall?

MAC TURQUATIC

Do you know how certain smells or fragrances trigger memories?! Well, Turquatic from MAC does that to me...it reminds me of a perfume my grandfather used to buy me when I was younger. Whenever he visited from the Dominican Republic he always asked what I wanted him to bring me. I always said a perfume from the Duty Free at the airport, I don't remember the name of it...just the smell and that the bottle was round with some blue on it.

I have been wanting to try Turquatic for awhile, but never made it into MAC or if I did the MA's were always to busy to help me out so I kept putting it off. Until yesterday, on my walk over to Grand Central to catch the train home I decided to stop by and finally buy it.

Retails for $25

It's small enough to carry around in my purse for whenever I need a touch up, but honestly I really think it lasts all day long. Last night I sprayed it on my wrists and after washing dishes and taking my son a bath, I could still smell it. I asked the BF if he liked the smell, but all he said was "I dunno...it smells like all of the rest you have." Ugh...men are no help! lol

Have you tried Turquatic or any other Mac Fragrance?

Wishlist!!!!

I have been a handbag feein, since I can remember! A girl can't never have too many handbags, right?!

Breakouts BEWARE!!!!

Honestly, I have no idea WTF is going on with my face! I find like 4-5 new pimples every wk, geez it's getting really annoying.  It's hard enough trying to find a product that is going to actually work. I have been researching for a while now and I cam across this.

bliss no 'zit' sherlock complete acne system $32

• 3-step routine for acne-addled complexions
• fixes existing breakouts and prevents more from forming
• squashes spots with salicylic acid and probiotics

Today is actually Day 2 of using this...so far so good. Can't really say I have seen any dramatic change as of yet, but I will keep you all posted.  The only con is that the moisturizer is mattifying so there can be a little flaking, especially is you have the tendency of touching your face a lot. Tammy a lovely blogger, recommend I try the kit from YES to CARROTS. It has been working for her and it has great reviews, what sucks is that I haven't been able to find it. I will continue my search and in the meantime keep up with this regimen!

Product of the Week #9

What It Is: Cream Eyeshadow/Liner

What It Does: It's a sparkling champagne cream shadow which claims to be crease-proof and smudge proof.

Overall: It's a pretty color, I like how it's blendable and the color is very buildable. The only thing that I dislike is that it does crease if you don't use a primer on your eyes. But, besides that I really like this as an all over splash of color for your eyelids.

Where Can You Buy It: You can find this at Sephora or at the Benefit website.

Blush Addict

Lately all I want to do is buy blushes, but I always seem to only get pinks and corals...I think I have a problem!
I hate going to Target for one thing and coming out with more than what I was suppose to. Has that ever happened to you?! Anyways, since I tried Sonia Kashuk's TM and lipgloss's I thought I would give her blushes a  shot.
Here are my two favorite ones, the Beautifying Blush in Flamingo and the Creme Blush in Rosey. I'm really liking these blushes, especially the creme blush. It looks a bit orange in the picture, but its more of a coraly/pinky color. I like applying this with my fingers which is more easier for me then using a brush.

What blushes have you recently been using?

Twins?!

So apparently Brayan is always being mistaken for being my siblings son! You would think that you had the audacity to carry a baby for 9 months that they would look exactly like you...yea right. I thought it would be funny to put a side by side pictures of my younger brother (25 yrs old) next to a picture of Brayan, to see if there really is a resemblance.

Apparently everyone seems to think so....check it out!

Brayan isn't really wearing glasses, they are from a Harry Potter set. Funny thing is my brother's name is Hery, but he just tells people to call him Harry or Henry.

Product of the Week #8

What It Is: Mac Bronzing Powder

What It Does: A lightly frosted, tinted powder that gives skin sheer, natural colour effects and highlights. Ideal for enhancing a skin tone or to accent or strengthen a tan. Skin-conditioning - and formulated to provide a smooth, even application on all skin types.

Overall: I like the fact that this bronzer is not to shimmery and not to orange. I gently swipe it 2x's on my cheeks for a nice glowy look.

Where Can You Buy It: I believe this was a limited edition item so it is no longer available. You can also try your local CCO.

What's your favorite Bronzer?

Splurge vs. Steal

There is so much hype around the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners, but sadly it doesn't live up to it.

So, here is my Splurge vs. Steal...the UD 24/7 Eyeliners retails for $18 a piece and it claims that it has a long-lasting finish that won't budge and then there is the Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eyeliner that retails for $5.99.

The Milani eyeliner doesn't even have a chance of coming off. It dries in 15 seconds after applying and in order for you to remove it, you have to use makeup remover...that's how good it's staying power is! Also, this is a true black eyeliner compared to the Urban Decay, which isn't even that black.

So which one do you prefer?

Product of the Week #7

What It Is: Sonia Kashuk Radiant Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15

What It Does: Evens out your skin tone while giving you medium coverage and some sunscreen protection.

Overall: I really like this, it matches my skin perfectly and gives it a beautiful dewy radiant finish.
This is more like a light foundation because it isn't as sheer as a TM should be. After wearing it for about 8 hours my face was still feeling great!

Where Can You Buy It: I think you can only find this at Target at it's about $12-$13. Sad thing is I think it might be discontinued, so I suggest you go and try it now before it's no longer available.
