Favorite Perfumes

So as many of you know a Perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils and aroma compounds, fixatives, and solvents used to give the human body, animals, objects, and living spaces a pleasant scent. Everyone has their signature scent or the one that they use on a regular basis. Certain scents tend to trigger a past memory, for example what you wore throughout High School...honestly I haven't the slightest idea of what that was, but I can tell you that throughout college I wore a whole lot of Love Spell by Victoria Secret. So, I thought I would tell you all about my current favorite perfumes.

The Beat by Burberry - $55

Attitude meets energy in Burberry The Beat. This sparkling floral woody fragrance is at once sexy, feminine, modern, dynamic, and vibrant. The floral topnotes are reminiscent of a carpet of bluebells in a dense forest, mixed with the tradition and contradictions of Ceylon tea. Smoky and sensual tones of wood round out the scent of The Beat.

This perfume I bought during a shopping outting at TjMaxx during Christmas. TjMaxx always has designer perfumes cheaper then department stores, especially during a holiday season.

Daisy by Marc Jacobs - $57
Enter the world of Daisy: fresh and feminine, with a playful innocence. At the heart of Daisy is a floral with vintage edge: violet. Sophisticated, with a touch of whimsy, violet captures the eclectic, vintage flavor of Marc Jacobs' feminine, edgy designs. Always elegant, always enchanting - but not too serious - Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet, spirited and fresh, wrapped in comfort and warmth.

I received this as a birthday gift, last year and I am on my 2nd bottle. I love this smell so much that I wear this almost everyday.

Very Hollywood by Michael Kors - $45

Make a glamorous escape with Michael Kors Very Hollywood. This fabulous essence features notes of sparkling mandarin, gardenia, and vetiver that are suited to a silver screen siren.
This particular scent was so freaking hard to find! My sister gave me a gift card for Sephora and I decided that I was going to use it to purchase this perfume. After going to like a bazillion (exaggerating) Sephora's I finally found it. I think this will be my signature scent for this summer.

I am still on the quest to add more perfumes to my current collection! ☺

HauteLook

I'm always on You Tube trying to entertain myself while bored at work....lol, and I have heard several gurus on there mention this website while watching their Hauls. If you aren't familiar with the term "Haul", it basically is a video that the youtuber makes showing off their recent purchased items. Many don't like these types of videos because they get offended by the fact that the person is somewhat "bragging", but in my opinion it doesn't bother me. I like to see what other people's purchases and note if what they bought was actually a bargain or any good.

This brings me back to what I was orginally talking about. This site called HauteLook, is basically a site that bring online sales events for a limited time offer on a daily basis. HauteLook partners with premium fashion and lifestyle brands to create private, upscale sale events at savings of up to 75% off retail prices. HauteLook is free to join and everyone is welcome. If you purchase an item it usually takes 10-14 days to receive because the events usually last 2 days and then the order is placed with the partner company.

Looking thru the site one morning, like I always do. I noticed that they were having a MEGA sale on sunglasses. If you are like me, you are always on the search for the perfect shades. I currently have a pair of oversize shades from Armani Exchange in the color brown, but I have been wanting a pair of Aviator ones. The perfect Aviator ones had a perfect price and they were from Marc by Marc Jabobs.
The pair I got was in White, since the black ones were sold out in a matter of minutes. They retail for $98 & were discounted to $39, which includes the a black case as well...2 Thumbs up for a great deal! I also bought a pair for the BF in Black & he totally loves them.

With that said, join the site...it's free & there are always great deals! ☺

Current Obsessions

My name is Thalian & I am addicted to make-up & anything beauty related! lol ☺

I confess, I always find myself spending close to or over $100 at Sephora every time I stop by just to "Window Shop" and who invented that phrase? They should be shot because no one can really window shop and not feel tortured. So with that said, I have a few recent faves...things I keep reaching for on a regular basis when I feel like looking extra pretty.

First product is a Lip Butter by Korres in Jasmine. I love love love chapsticks, lip gloss, lip butter's ...etc. (You get the point) This retails for $10 and is so totally worth it because it lasts forever, tastes yummy & is a pretty neutral color.
Next fave by Benefit Cosmetics is the Sugarbomb Beauty Powder which retails for $30. Yea I know, that is way to much mula for a damn blush. But, if you are like me it doesn't hurt to spurlge on something at least once. It's consists of four shades that give you this nice peachy color, I tend to use this as a blush. It also smells really good, I have the habit of buying products that smell & taste good.

Have you ever tried to find the perfect eyeliner? One that doesn't smear all over  your eyes & makes you look all nasty. Well, I found one! It's a 24/7 Glide on Pencil by Urban Decay in the color Zero (also known as black) and it goes for $17 bucks. This stays put all day and doesn't smudge, by far the best I have tried & I have purchased a lot of eyeliners that I no longer use and that are accumulating dust in my make-up bin.

Ok, so as a Hispanic I have to go to the Salon every wk or else my hair is a greasy mess. It can be very expensive paying a hair stylist $25 every week, so I decide I was going to save a few dollars here and there and invest in a nice good ol' flat iron. I'm always on You Tube researching products, everyone knows that You Tube is the place to find out any info on anything. Anyways, I saw a hair tutorial by a girl who was using a flat iron to curl her hair. I was amazed, because I never knew flat iron could do that...yea I'm a nerd! I went online at ordered that baby, it was a bundle deal that came w/ a mini blow dryer. It's by Ti Creative Styling and the bundle was for $100...for Flat Iron & Bebe Blowdryer. Let me tell you that I haven't been to the Salon in maybe 2 months, I just don't have the patience of sitting under a dryer & listening to all the drama that goes on. It's exactly like the image below....Purple w/ Leopard print...how cute is that?! It also came with a carrying case / cluth bag and a wiping cloth, the plates are made of Titanium Ceramic so it does less damage to your hair. But, note this is not to be used with wet hair!!!!

When at Sephora & waiting in line, have you noticed all the mini goodies they have on display...ugh I hate that! It entices you to buy uncessary products, which I am also gulity of. I picked up this
Willow Bark Treatment To Go by Boscia, it's a convinient on the go spot treatment. I tend to get little breakouts here and there so I thought "what the heck, doesn't hurt to try it out". This little bad boy was $15 dollars, but actually lived up to it's expectation. Whenever I feel like a pimple is coming on, I just dab some of it as many times as possible.

All this products / items mentioned can be found at http://www.sephora.com/ or at their store & on http://www.beautychioce.com/

Thanks for reading!

ShoeDazzle...Your Personal Shoe Stylist

For those of you that haven't heard the buzz around Twitter...Shoe Dazzle is a company or how they call themselves a "Shoe Society" where you simply join, take a fashion survey, the stylist pick 5 shoes for you each month and then you choose the pair you want. This company was started my TV-Reality star Kim Kardashian. There is a monthly memership fee of $39.95, which isn't bad for the quality of these shoes. You aren't obligated to buy a shoe every month, if you aren't content with the selection that was picked for you that month you can simply skip the month or asked for an alternate one.

After months of looking at the different selections and finally deciding on getting a pair, I decided to order these sexy shoes for my birthday. A Girl has to spoil herself on her big day!

They arrived in about 2 wks via Fed-Ex, (mind you the delivery guy was HAWT!!!) the actual packaging is really nice and your shoes come with a cloth bag to keep them protected when you travel. I tried them on, even though I was afraid that these 3.5 inch babies where going to be the death of me...but to my surprise they were actually comfortable. However, after dancing for 3 hrs in a club, not so much...lol! But, what can you do....Pain is Beauty.

Mommyhood

The wonderful world of being a Mom! ☺

I have a 1 1/2 yr old toddler named Brayan, I love him to death but I sometimes wonder why he does certain things. I am a 1st time mom so everything he says or does amazes me...lol. His favorite word at the moment is "No", gosh how I hate that! (Hate is a strong word, so let's say dislike)

Especially when you are trying to get some love & affection and that comes out of his mouth. Also, he hates it when bath time is over....that's his favorite time to throw a tantrum. I just tend to laugh at him, but it isn't the correct thing to do if you are trying to set some boundaries as a parent.

While doing some research, I found a few books that seemed ok. I remembered that while I was pregnant that I read a book by Vicki Iovine, "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregancy." It was very healthful and I enjoyed reading the book. So I figured I would see if she had any books on Toddlers and she did....woohooo!

It's available at Barnes & Noble's for $14.99, it's a good investment if you are looking for some tips on what do to with your toddler. I have started reading it so far and I can say that it was worth the $. Let's see how fast I finish this and what great tips I get out of it. Hopefully, by the time my lil' guy comes back from the Dominican Republic I can use what I learned.
